Saucy-One Smokies



  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Lay out baking sheets with silicone mats in the bottom.
  3. Put toothpicks into a bowl, cover with water and let soak.
  4. In a saucepan, add brown sugar and hot sauce. Over medium heat, whisk mixture until the sugar is caramelized. Set aside.
  5. Cut bacon strips in half and wrap a half strip around each little smokie, securing each one with a toothpick.
  6. Place smokies on the baking sheet with a little room between each one.
  7. Baste the wrapped smokies with the caramelized hot sauce and slide the trays into the oven.
  8. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes, basting smokies again half way through the cooking time.
  9. Take those little meat candies out of the oven, let stand for 5 minutes, tray and serve.
